COVID 19 curve flattening in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad
Dr Rajdeep Guleria, AIIMS Director in an interview said that the coronavirus curve in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and certain parts of South India is flattening. "Different parts of the country will peak at different times. Delhi is one such state where flattening of the curve is happening. It is happening in other areas of the country as well. Mumbai, Ahmedabad and certain parts of the South are showing a decline. They seem to have reached a plateau and are showing a downward trend." said Dr Guleria who is heading the battle against Coronavirus pandemic in India. However, when cases do come down, we need to continue to be aggressive. The same happened in parts of India, and when cases came down, everyone thought they were immune and could stop social distancing and wearing of masks which eventually led to another spell of the virus.
Dil Bechara becomes the Highest rated Indian film
Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi's 'Dil Bechara', directed by Mukesh Chhabra has moved the industry from its core within a few hours of its release. In just a few hours of its premiere on the online streaming platform Disney+Hotstar, the movie is set to become the highest-rated Indian movie of all time. The current IMDb rating of the movie stands at 9.8/10 which according to the current trend is likely to increase in the coming few days and weeks putting the movie ahead of the second-best in the list, 'Anbe Sivam' (2003). Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely death has left the entire nation in a deep shock, and under such circumstances seeing him act and flash his bright smile for the last time in the role of 'Manny' was no less of an emotional ride for his fans. We hope he's at peace wherever he is.
'Teenage Police', wing launched by Faridabad Police
The Faridabad police have launched a separate wing named 'Teenage Police' with the sole intention to address issues faced by teenagers (14 to 19 years old). From bullying to drug abuse and trafficking, The TAP or Teenage police will look into the grievances of individuals belonging to this age group. OP Singh, the newly appointed commissioner of police, Faridabad asserted that it is the need of the hour, to handle cases related to teenagers since they are often subjected to bullying by 'anti-social' elements due to their exposure to the internet and social media. He also told that an officer of ACP-rank will head the new wing. "The officer will work in close coordination with school authorities, parents associations and NGO's that deal with teenage problems in the area," he added. Manoj Yadava, Haryana director general of police also said that if it receives a good response here, the pilot project will be introduced in other districts of Haryana as well.
A new Game of Thrones season is on the way?
It's official, The popular television show Game of Thrones based on George R.R. Martin's 'Fire and Blood' is all set to return but this time it is not about the Starks or the Lannisters but the Targaryens. The title with the 'Dragon' sigil hints that the makers will now focus on the story of house Targaryen of which we know of only vaguely. The new series will take place 300 years before the events of Thrones. Looks like we will finally find answers about the Mad King, Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark that lurked at the back of our minds every time we binge-watched a new season. Here's what the tweet read, "The series is co-created by @GRRMSpeaking and Ryan Condal. Miguel Sapochnik will partner with Condal as showrunner and will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Condal will be writing the series." Reports also suggest that HBO has begun casting for the Game Of Thrones prequel which is likely to release in 2022. Man gets first dose of India's COVID-19 vaccine
Covaxin, developed by Hyderabad based firm ‘Bharat Biotech’ in collaboration with the ICMR and National Institute of Virology (NIV) had recently been approved for human clinical trials from the Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI). As a part of the process, a 30-year-old healthy man was the first candidate to receive a dose of the under trial coronavirus vaccine, Covaxin at AIIMS, New Delhi. For the purpose of pre-testing that includes blood and nasopharyngeal testing for COVID-19, a total of 12 volunteers were called. After the results, 10 healthy individuals were selected for the vaccine to be given in phases. 100 healthy people will be vaccinated at AIIMS during the course of this trial and a report on their health condition will be submitted to the ethics committee for reviewing the entire process.
